Don’t let a problem grow……

Counselling

Counselling is a confidential space to talk about personal issues so you can understand them more clearly and find new ways to cope. Seeking counselling is about making a positive choice to get help by talking confidentially with a professionally trained listener who has no other role in your life.

RAU in-house counsellor

To request a confidential in-house counselling appointment speak to the Counselling, Health and Wellbeing Officer (term time only) who will arrange a time for an initial consultation as soon as they can. During the consultation you will discuss what the issue is and how you might work together to establish new ways to cope or better understand things. If you decide you would like more ongoing sessions after this, there may be short wait as capacity is limited for ongoing sessions.

All RAU students also have free access to Cotswold Counselling, an established charity that provides counselling to individuals and couples. Cotswold Counselling can provide long or short term counselling in their own premises in Cirencester. Appointments are available during the day as well as evenings and weekends. You will have a short conversation by phone then be booked with an appropriate counsellor according to your availability. All you need to do is call 01285 885830 Monday-Friday 10am-12pm and explain that you are a student at RAU.
